In this video we go through the basics of connecting an analog 10 channel audio mixer (Yamaha MG10) into a powered speaker (Yamaha DXR12). We then connect a microphone (Shure SM58) and headphone cable so we can connect a phone.
Starting with the basics, we like to always verify that we have a good power source at the venue before running any XLR or signal cable. Once the mixer is powered on, we check that the speaker also has a reliable power source.
Once the mixer and the speaker are powered on, we run the signal cable to connect the two. The speaker should be powered off while connecting the signal cable.
Then, you can connect your microphone and input sources, check their volume, and have an awesome event!

Wow I nearly fell asleep after 30secs of hearing your voice
What if your mixer only has a jack output?
Now 21 April 2020 looking for a video advice for a friend that wants to learn how to connect pro DJ Speakers for her new venture she's taken up, i could explain simply to her in an email but she will get confused and forget so the problem i have is finding a video that explains and shows her how to connect speakers and the difference between passive and active as also how to combine passive with active using 2 power amps. Your video is poor quality demonstration, you like many people neglect to make clear on the type of speaker your using, in your case is with built in amp making it active and the reason for such a speaker, to teach anyone on any subject but assume they understand is bad practice and very bad teaching.
You hiring?
👏🏾👍🏾 AMAZING DEMO, really helped me out!!!

close up and more info on the type of wires
Thanks so much,I appreciate it

If I were running karaoke from my laptop would I need an amplifier if I had that sound board and powered speakers? And what kind of wireless mic would you recommend for that scenario. I have a large room and it’s for my own personal amusement, not a professional kJ but I want it to sound better than good.
Perfect how to video for a complete novice, like me.
Really helpful – thanks.
How were you checking with your phone?
EQ's flat!!!! Thanks!!!!
how much chit chat you do??
If I connect my mixer to the speakers, I only get a signal into one of the speakers allthough the two speakers are connected with the mixer.
Nice ..a little far away to see the mixer

pls help, how could i connect karaoke and basic mixer to my powered speaker?
Any good portable mixer to connect my marshall kiburn 2 to microphone 🎤
What kind of cable is he using
How price sir
You're suppose to set the volume starting from input level (gain), to channel level, to master level, to speaker input level in that order to make sure you have the best signal to noise ratio.
Shut up
Just bring a nightlight and plug it in. If it lights up, you have power and can proceed to set up. No?
What is the mixer name
well done video…thx
What does "leaving the EQ flat " mean?
What type of cable is being used for mixer to pa speaker. I'm confused with speaker and instrument cables.
