Scotty Kilmer just made a video on the jumper. He seems to like it too!
fast forward to 2020 and it's nearly a zombi time
How thick is your concrete?
Oh gosh THANK YOU for quoting prices. For some reason YouTubers like to shy away from those details, which I don't understand because it is super useful information! Thanks!
Wasted 10 min of my life listing about a battery jumper pack
the actual information you came here for starts at 4:32
30x30x90 concrete floor 12foot walls 12,000 two doors.buitritght barns
Where I live 150,000 can get you a mansion houses are so cheap but prices are going up especially on land bc of gas and oil. It sucks
It should be named “ghetto car lift” in crowed cul de sac street…………where neighbors detest, despise, and loathe people coming to see the “home garage mechanic”.
FYI you should pay the contractor after installation of the lift, not before.
I will be building a similar garage in chicago recently, which builder did you go with?
What company did your garage
Yes it is cold as you say in the video. But someone invented the woolly hat. Good news is you don't actually need to place it on your butt because 70% of the bodies heat escapes via the head.
I can't help but keep on looking at your nose which is getting more and more red as the video rolls by. X^D
You and I look about the same age. Just curious what do you do for a living?
The battery is dead let's test it yh it's dead.🤣🤣I'm dead 😂😂
My grandparents built a massive garage 80’ x 135’ all in spent around 18,000 concrete was poured by a friend and it was built and had a metal roof installed by some Amish workers that live near their place and it came out great and only took about 3 weeks start to finish
ICF Construction would have been comparable to your total cost without adding the insulation cost AND would have insulated better, cut the cost of your heating by nearly 70%. You can then cover the walls with a myriad of coverings using the ICF built in fastening system. That wood finish you have is easily accommodated and so is the siding material on the outside. Bonus is the structural integrity is maintained nearly maintenance free for up to 100 years. Long after you have sold it off and retired. Stick Framing is cheaper initially until you have to add insulation, vapor barrier and reinforcements. It is one of the newest best methods of hard shell construction that provides durability over time. Just look at the house that survived Hurricane Michael @ Mexico Beach FL. 100% intact with minimal damage. I know you do not need all those hurricane upgrades, but, …………………………..anyway, I just happen to LOVE that form of building method. Minnesota residents are using it and loving it. However, it meets the Dade County Standard of storm building protected houses, and a lot of the tornado impacted area's as well. Typically, a safe room is incorporated into this build, but, a garage space limited would likely not accommodate that. Thanks for the hot tip on the charger.
Can we get a tour of your toolbox sometime?
How were you able to get around the 15ft max height in the city?
Isn't that lift post too close to the control joint?
24,000 is actually a good deal for all of that.
I want this builder's info, I'm going to build a garage in my property also in Chicago and I want to go as big as I can go
Have you ever done a toolbox tour of that pretty Matco box? My favorite tools.
Seattle, quoted $120,000 for a 24'X40'X12' detached garage.
That garage is nice!!! You would pay 200 grand in California 1 million in San Francisco
Do you still have the 14% for this jumper. I’d like to get it. Thanks.
Awesome video! Subscribed👍 I too live in Chicago and looking into building a garage. Everything that I've read so far is saying 15ft limit….is there some sort of loophole to get that 18ft height approved?? Thank you sir!
You were able to afford all that working as a mechanic!?
"Some people have pointed out that my garage isn't painted and I don't have any outlet covers but believe it or not, I am completely aware"
that made me chuckle
That would cost 3 times that in the DC area.
Looking like Rudolph with that bitter cold lmfao
I have the same type of jumper but different name, I used it to jump my 4.0 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a bad battery about 6 times, and that was before AI recharged the battery pack. My wife and I went to Vegas to see our son and the heat killed her battery quick, so luckily we took this along and it saved us from calling a tow or jump from my son, got a new batter and all was good.
One day I went to the grocery store and forgot that was in my bags, the checkout girl asked about it and I showed her, now she wants to get one for her dying battery.
GREAT TO HAVE!!! Just wish they would put in a adapter for Motorcycles.
Quick question, I noticed your lift is right up against the edge of your slab and also right against a control joint. From what i understand is that isnt ideal for a lift, how thick is your slab? any issues with the lift being mounted there?
Im installing a lift soon and it will also be very close to the edge and a control joint.
thanks.
I live in Chicago, thinking to do the same. What company did build your garage?
24×32 garage 14 ft ceiling one garage door 5500 all said and done
Earthquakes! Well i live in California i would never leave a car on a lift like that as an additional parking spot… you are just asking for trouble.
I am in Chicago so it this was really helpful

Charger doesn't work..
Got a question for you.. you ever have any issues with the lift being so close to the wall on the driver side?
hey, great info on the garage. I'm looking to build a garage and wondered about sizes for a lift but something you didn't mention… what thickness of concrete does the lift need? I'm guessing the anchors weren't pre-built since you mentioned you had an installer come out after the fact, so i'm assuming it was safe to drill into the cement. Is the cement floor the same thickness throughout the whole garage? I did a patio outside to repair cars on and made it 6" thick, but even at 6"s i'm not sure if you could install a heavy lift. Thanks for any info you may provide. Oh and what is the PSI of the concrete? is it a standard 3500psi or is it higher?
Great video! Exactly what I needed to hear!
24 grand for a garage like that is a great deal in chicago
Did you put footings in for the lift?
Thats a good price. In WI I’m getting quotes from 28-40k for a 30×40 with big doors.
