  • It doesn't look stupid or sound dumb. I think it's very cool. Sound is an art form too. Why not use the best instrument? Our own voice!

  • "You don't have to have a perfect recording" this is misleading…. Unless you've already practiced the movie trailer voice you won't get a usable finished product. Which is why he goes on to teach you about vocal exercises.

  • Hey Way to go! I was just looking at hiring somebody to do some voiceover work for my company. Maybe I’ll just hire myself and learn how to do this.

I do a lot of things. And one of those was to Drive Lyft and Uber believe it or not. And I happen to take a guy who was filming for the discovery channel and other things. He said I should do voiceover, and I was like yeah sure. But he was serious. Maybe with this I can make it sound to what I would like.

    Thank you so much!

  • "…to the point where you're kind of tearing your throat up a little bit." 3:20 Yikes. Please know that you don't have to hurt your throat to change your sound. Permanent vocal damage is one way some people get a gritty voice (e.g. smoking) but consider if that's actually worth it. Forcing your voice to sound like something it's not takes away a lot more potential than it adds. Approach lower notes with relaxation and ease, don't force a scratchy voice for something so small as making an amateur movie trailer…

  • one thing oyu left out that really adds a nice touch to processing these types of vocals is a chorus effect. it makes the vocal recording extremely wide in the stereo spread and i notice alot of these types of vocals are really wide. It kind gives it this "sci-fi" announcer voice style
